Hey all! So right now is a good time to be in R&B, for sure. These artists are really stepping up their game and moving these units! Let’s do a Rundown!

First off, according to my sources, Keri Hilson is on pace to debut at #1 next week with sales of 90,000. That is a prediction, but if its true , GO KERI!! I’m glad people are showing her some love!

Kelly Clarkson beat out TheDream for the number one spot two weeks ago for his second album Love vs. Money (if you missed it, read my reivew here) debuted. Dream debuted at #2 but slipped in his second week to #4 with 56,000 albums sold.

Gorilla Zoe’s newest effort, Don’t Feed the Animals makes a decent debut at #8 on the Billboard 200.

Beyonce’s I am…Sasha Fierce slides down one spot to #9, while Jamie Foxx’s Intuition slides one spot down to #10.

Other notables include

J.Holiday’s sophmore album, Round 2, dropping from #4 to #20. I haven’t heard much on this album..
Keyshia Cole is stitting at #26 with her latest album, A Different Me, after 14 weeks on the charts and is Certified Gold.
Charlie Wilson has dropped to #43 after 5 weeks on the chart with his new album, Uncle Charlie
Jennifer Hudson is sitting at #56, and is Certified Gold after 25 weeks on the charts with her self-titled debut album
Ludacris is sitting at #88 with his newest album, Theatre of the Mind, which is Certified Gold after 17 weeks

Singer Vivian Green

In  other R&B news,

– Singer Natalie Cole will headline the 17th annual Capital Jazz Fest (June 5-7; Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland). The R&B and contemporary jazz lineup includes the reunion of the four original members of En Vogue, Leela James, Rahsaan Patterson, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, Lalah Hathaway and Pieces of a Dream.

-E1 Music (formerly Koch) has signed singer/songwriter Vivian Green. The first release from her three-album deal is slated for summer 2009. Green previously recorded two albums through Sony: 2002’s Gold-Certified “A Love Story” and 2005’s “Vivian.” I loved her single, Gotta Go from her last album!

All in all, album sales are looking pretty dismal this time of year. As far as singles go,

Soulja Boy & Sammie are riding the wave of their hit song, Kiss Me Though the Phone which is currently #3 on the Billboard 100.

T.I & Justin Timberlake’s Dead & Gone dropped from #2 to #4.

Jamie Foxx & T-Pain are sitting at #7 with my song, Blame it

Kanye West’s Heartless has had a good run for 20 weeks on the chart and is currently at #8.

Ne-Yo is steady at #12 with Mad

Keri Hilson is enjoying her success with Turning Me On sitting at #15

Kid Cudi’s Day & Nite has moved up to #18 – I like this track

The Dream has fallen down to #22 with Rockin that Thang

Flo Rida is brand new with his new song Sugar with Singer Wynter Gordon

Ciara has made a big jump from #86 to #27 with her song, Love Sex Magic

Beyonce moved up to #28 with her song, Halo

Lil Wayne is new at #33 with his new song Hot Revolver

Grand Hustle’s newest star, Yung L.A. is sitting at #47 with his hit Ain’t I, featuring Young Dro & T.I

Well thats the HITS! Make sure you get out and support your favourite artist and your Music!

  2. LOL go Keri Hilson. MTV jamz was giving her some good promo. Not jam of the wk but her new song with Kanye might as well have been.

  3. I love Vivian Green! Good to see that she’s coming out with something new, it’s been a minute…
