ChokLitFactory Exclusive: Is Whitney Houston the G.O.A.T of Contemporary R&B? Part II

And we won’t stop! Continuing our discussion of Ms Whitney; I peeped her grand entrance on both the Grammys and BET Honors earlier this month and started getting all types of excited again! They taking Whitney to the studio, huh? They ain’t playin this time around! Now, back to class!

Into the early 90s, Whitney started to venture into movies, and hit it big with her hit, The Bodyguard. The movie, starring Kevin Costner, was a hit, but the soundtrack, was a monster. Boasting gems like “I have nothing”, “I’m every Woman” and the unstoppable, “I Will Always Love you” made it, the biggest selling soundtrack and the 3rd highest selling CD of all time. Yah, Whitney was banking some serious cash back then, hey? This was also right after her marriage to Bobby B, as well. Check the videos.

Whitney’s I’m Every Woman (Check the baby bump, and Whitney positively glowing! Remember when Oprah made this her show’s theme song? Yah, you remember!)

Whitney’s I Have Nothing (ChokLitfactory’s Fave!)

Whitney’s I will always Love you (Big up to the Songwriters: Diane Warren, Dolly Parton, Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson on the project. This song wasn’t expected to well on Radio due to its acapella introduction.)

This was a SERIOUS post! lol I hope these videos take you back to better times…Stay tuned to tomorrow for Part III where Whitney finally exhales!
